Massage therapy uses a variety of techniques to manipulate your joints and soft tissue to improve your body’s overall health. Massage increases the body’s supply of oxygen and nutrients to your muscles, which help release waste from the muscle tissue. Massage also accelerates your body’s own natural ability to heal itself.

Shiatsu Massage

Shiatsu, which translates to “finger pressure” in Japanese, is a form of massage therapy that involves applying pressure to specific points on the body to promote balance and harmony. Unlike traditional massage techniques, Shiatsu is performed on a floor mat with the client fully clothed, making it accessible and comfortable for people of all ages and physical abilities.

How is Shiatsu Performed?

During a Shiatsu session  you’ll lie comfortably on a padded mat on the floor, wearing loose, comfortable clothing. Our  therapist will begin by assessing your individual needs and preferences, taking into account any areas of tension or discomfort you may be experiencing.

Using their fingers, thumbs, palms, and elbows, our therapist will apply gentle pressure to specific points along the body’s energy pathways, known as meridians. By stimulating these points, the therapist helps to release blockages and restore the smooth flow of Qi, or life force energy, throughout the body.
